I’ve been wanting to go to Richmond Station (www.richmondstation.ca) for a while and it was well worth the wait!
From the Pantry we had, the Bulgogie Steak Tartare to start as our first dish, then the Smoked Trout Hushpuppies came along.
The Tartare was great and I wanted more once it was done. The Wonton Chips they are served on were unique and crispy. The Hushpuppies were delisious, one point I was almost licking the serving dish to get more of the aioli.
The Beet Salad was good. I love beets, so I find it hard to find a bad beet salad. All the elements of the salad complimented eachother well.
The burger was absolutely delicious. It was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and it was exploding with flavour. The fries were great as well, thin cut and crispy.
For Dessert we had the Torte. I was disappointed to find out they didn’t have the Mint Chocolate Meringue dish that I was looking so forward to try but it was a previous week special (so close!)
The torte itself was yummy, brownie/cake consistency. The ice cream was so soft, flavourful and light. The chocolate brushing was a bitter dark chocolate, my favourite.
I love the plating at this place, so unique and pretty. The waitress was very attentive, she noticed we were talking a lot so she gave us a lot of space but still ensuring our water was full.
