To start, the service at Nota Bene (http://notabenerestaurant.com/) is impeccable. Our server was very attentive, never left an empty place and kept our water full. We saw the next table get sliders that are not on the menu and we were so interested that our waiter made it happen for us.
The sliders were juicy, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Whenever we had a question, the water would get the answer. For example, we wanted to know what kind of wood plank the burgers were presented on. The waiter asked the chef and reported back to us.
The waiters recommendations were on par. Next up. the Crisp Duck Salad.
The duck sure was crispy, the fatty pieces were the best because they had the most flavour. The taro root were like crunchy thin chips that went well with the salad.
Expected meat with our Cavatelli Pugliese being a bolognese, it was strictly mushroom.
The pasta was similar to a gnocci dish. It was really delicious and light.
Lastly for dinner, we had the Beef Tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare. It was so tender and juicy.
The dessert was sour on the top, with a layer of chocolate mousse and brownie chunks. It was delightful! The sour added to the sweet flavour of the chocolate.
The only thing I’d like the chef to do better is focus on the plating. I found each dish to be very boring.
