Dinner at Small Town Food

Small Town Food (http://www.smalltownbar.com/) located in Parkdale is a cute little bar with great eats and they specialize in their cocktails.

Their menu is very interesting, meant for sharing and far from traditional. We ordered the Scotch Egg which normally is cold and hard boiled fully, this egg was served warm and the egg was close to runny. The hot sauce is made from scratch and made this dish fantastic.

The Tater Tots were delicious. Potato on the inside, coated with Cauliflower, deep fried and served with a Ranch Dip. This was my favourite dish of the night.

The Fish and Chips were great but small. The inside of the fish is raw and the outside crispy and deep fried. Served with thin cut crispy potato chips and brushed tartar sauce on the board.

The Flat Iron Steak was delicious. Slices of medium rare steak on top of carrots and potato mash.

Lastly, for desert the Bread Pudding topped with crystallized Banana’s. This was delicious, especially the banana’s.

Come with an empty stomach and plan to share! I was last to get my dinner after everyone finished their mains which was not impressive. The waitress did not apologize and seemed annoyed that I asked where my dish was.

Overall the food was amazing which made up for the lack of service and they play great music from the 80’s.

Overall Rating 3.5***
