Le Petit Déjeuner (http://www.petitdejeuner.ca/) is a family run business specializing in Belgian-Canaian comfort food. Waiting in like for an hour in the cold outside, this place HAS to be amazing. It’s like this every weekend since they do not take brunch reservations.
The food was worth the wait. The french toast was cooked perfectly and it did not taste ‘eggy’ which is my biggest pet peeve. They also use Challah bread which is the way to my heart for french toast. The sausage was made from scratch in a square shape and was SO flavourful with lots of spices. It did not have the same consistency as a sausage would with the outer layer skin wrapper. The eggs, so simple and cooked just right, not liquidy. The slaw consisted of granny smith apples, pickles, carrots and a thousand island dressing which was very tasty.
The authentic Belgian Waffles were fantastic. It was very light and delicious with their maple syrup and most of all, the real deal.
They did forget about our coffee and our request of strawberries and cream on the side was missed.
