Toronto has gotten the first curry Japanese restaurant to open in Toronto. It stands out like a sore thumb on Dundas St just east of University Ave. The restaurant is called Gyugyuya (www.gyugyuya.com/) and is painted yellow.
They specialize in curry however they provide dishes without if you’re not feeling it.
We ordered the Karage Chicken and Gyu Cheese Curry (beef).
They were both good but the beef is preferred. It exploded with flavour in the curry sauce and the beef was cooked to perfection, however I’d prefer without the cheese. The chicken was crispy and tasty with a different sauce to compliment the flavours.
