Dining at Rosewater

Where do a lot of celebrities dine at, well it’s Rosewater. It is an elegant restaurant that offers a fusion of modern classics. I love the decor of the restaurant, it’s classy with large ceilings and easy to have a conversation. On your way down to the washroom, there are photos of the famous people that have dined at the restaurant. The seating could be better, I like the look of the chairs and benches but I find it an issue to sit up right on the bench.

They engage in Summerlicious and Winterlicious to try out their three course menu at a set cost.

Shortly after being seated, they provide fresh complimentary breads and butter.

Three dishes were ordered, the Lobster Ravioli (appetizer that can be made as a main course), Fire-Roasted Cornish Hen and the Seared Atlantic Salmon.

Lobster Ravioli – sweet corn, smoked bacon, confit potato, truffle butter
Fire Roasted Cornish Hen – garlic & honey glaze, chanterelle & thyme bread pudding, local root vegetables, natural pan jus
Seared Atlantic Salmon – beet and wild rice risotto, grilled asparagus, lemon beurre blanc

The food was cooked perfectly. The ravioli I thought was going to be a thick cheese sauce however the sauce was light and liquidy without overpowering the taste of the ravioli. The bacon was fresh and a great added taste and texture to the dish.

The cornish hen was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The bread pudding had a similar texture to stuffing.

The salmon was delicious, without any bones. The risotto was my favourite part because the beets gave it a sweet taste.

When presented, the dishes look a little small however it’s just the right amount of food.

The service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive and friendly.

Overall Rating: 4****
