Third weekend in a row going to High Park.. never get bored of that place and always new trails to experience. The forecast changed from sunny and beautiful to rainy and gloomy but that didn’t stop us!
We found the most beautiful spot High Park has to offer…
Once you walk down to the maple leaf flower garden there is another garden to the right of it. This place is so ZEN. If it wasn’t raining, we would have stayed and done some yoga but we were hungry and wet dogs.
We decided to eat in Roncesvalles and prefered a covered front patio so Opie wouldn’t get soaked. After walking a bit west in Roncesvalles we stumbled upon The Dizzy Gasto Sports Pub (http://thedizzy.ca/). They have a great front patio that is fully covered so no one is getting wet over here while enjoying our food outside! I don’t know about you but I can’t leave my dog outside while I eat inside.
The service was great, as we sat down we got service right away and our server was very nice, friendly and attentive. A real server doesn’t need to write your order down or repeat what was ordered; we got a real server. The food was made quick and served hot. The cornflake chicken po boy had just the right crunch and the flavour exploded in your mouth. The only complaint was there was just a tad too much salt on the fries. The nachos were crunchy with just the right amount of melted cheese, the steak was cooked perfectly and I’m a fan of salsa/guacamole on the side. The only complaint was the shredded lettuce wasn’t really needed on top but you’ve got to eat your greens.
Boy, did the cornflake chicken take the win! This pub was a great find, Opie was a celebrity, the food and service was great. Definitely coming back here!
